Questions
IMAP is how your email app reads mail and keeps it in step across devices. SMTP is how it sends mail. An email app needs both: an incoming (IMAP) server and an outgoing (SMTP) server.
Choose IMAP unless you have a reason not to. By default a POP3 app downloads mail and removes it from the server, so your phone and laptop stop agreeing. IMAP leaves mail on the server and every device sees the same inbox.
It is whoever runs the mailbox, not whoever sold the domain. Look at where you open your mail on the web: Gmail, Outlook, Zoho, your hosting panel. If you cannot tell, the Email Deliverability Check on this site reads your domain's mail records and shows who handles the mail.
Several providers no longer accept your normal password in other apps. They want a sign in through the provider, or an app specific password. The page for your provider says which.
Each one was read from the provider's own help page on the date shown on that provider's page, and the source is linked there. Providers change servers sometimes, so if a setting fails, their page wins.
No. The page runs in your browser and sends nothing about you or your mailbox to us.
