Export your products, upload the CSV here, write a template like {title} | {type} by {vendor}, check the preview and download the updated file. Import it in Shopify with Overwrite existing products ticked.
Aim for about 60 characters so Google shows it without cutting it. Shopify allows up to 70. The tool trims long titles at a word boundary, dropping the trailing part first.
About 150 to 160 characters is a good guide. Shopify allows up to 320, but Google usually shows around 155 and may rewrite it.
Templates give every page a clean, consistent start, which is better than empty fields. But the same sentence on every page is weak. Write unique titles and descriptions by hand for your best sellers and main collections.
Alt text describes the image for people who cannot see it and for search. The template fills it from the product title and image number. Describe the real picture for important images.
Empty variables are removed together with the dividers next to them, so you do not get a title ending in a stray separator.
No. The file is read and changed in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or to any server, so you can use real prices and products.
