Slug generator

Turn any name or title into a clean URL slug or Shopify handle, one at a time or a whole list.

Many at once

In Shopify the slug is called the URL handle. If you change one on a live page, tick the box to create a redirect from the old address, or the old links will stop working.

How we can help

A tidy slug is small. Keeping every old address alive is the real job

Handles and addresses matter most when you move or rename things. A change without a redirect throws away the rankings the old page earned.

Questions

The last part of a page address that names the page, such as shirt in yourstore.in/products/shirt. On Shopify it is called the URL handle.

Short, lowercase, words separated by hyphens, and about what the page is. Google recommends hyphens between words, not underscores.

The words that describe the page, yes, because they say what it is. Do not stuff extra keywords in. Leave out words that can change, such as a year or a colour.

You can, but the old address stops working unless you redirect it. In Shopify, tick the box to create a redirect when you change a handle.

Accents are removed, so Café becomes cafe. Letters from other alphabets cannot go in a handle, so write the name in English letters.

No. The slugs are made in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to us.

Renaming or moving a lot of pages?

Tell us the platform and how many. We map every old address to its new one so the rankings carry over, before there is any quote.

No pitch deck, no obligation. Bring your URL and we will look at it together.
