As a guide, a title of about 60 characters and a description of about 160. Google actually cuts by width in pixels, so this tool measures the width in your browser. The numbers are estimates, not promises.
Google sometimes rewrites titles and descriptions to match the search, or when yours is missing, too long, or does not describe the page well. Writing a clear, accurate one makes a rewrite less likely.
Tags that tell LinkedIn, Facebook, WhatsApp and other apps what title, description and picture to show when someone shares your link. Without them the app guesses, and often picks badly.
From a web address you give. Use a picture of about 1200 by 630 pixels, hosted on your own site or store. The preview loads it from there and nothing is uploaded to us.
Your theme writes the tags from each page's search engine listing, so set the title and description there. This tool is for checking your wording and for sites where you edit the tags by hand.
