Which apps are slowing your Shopify store?

Old settings, expired transients and licence data from plugins removed long ago. Exported with a rollback key and removed in batches while the site stayed under load.

Questions
Most apps add their own scripts to every page, whether that page uses the app or not. Each script has to be downloaded and run, and on a mid-range phone on mobile data a handful of heavy ones adds seconds before the page settles.
A script placed in the page head without async or defer makes the browser stop and wait for it before drawing anything. One slow blocking script delays the whole page, however fast everything else is.
Uninstalling removes the app from your admin, but code it added to your theme often stays behind and keeps loading. Those leftovers are safe to remove once you have confirmed nothing still uses them.
Not necessarily. A heavy app that earns sales is worth keeping; it can often be loaded later or only on the pages that need it. Look first for apps that overlap, apps you no longer use, and anything blocking the page.
The script did not download for us in time, or the server refused it. The app is still counted; only its size is left out of the total.
