How we can help

Fitting the limit is the easy part. Writing what earns the click is the hard part

A headline that fits can still be ignored. We write ads, titles and descriptions around what people search for and what makes them act, and test them against each other.

Questions

Responsive search ads allow headlines of up to 30 characters and descriptions of up to 90. Text over the limit is not accepted, so it is worth checking before you paste it into the ad editor.

As a guide, about 60 characters for the title and about 160 for the description. Google actually cuts by width in pixels, not by characters, and may rewrite the description, so treat these as targets, not strict limits.

Yes. Platforms count spaces and line breaks. The counter shows the total, and the total without spaces separately.

X counts every link as 23 characters whatever its length, and counts most emoji as two. So a post that looks like 280 characters here can differ there.

Here they do, the way most platforms show them. A few platforms count them differently, and SMS drops to 70 characters per message when an emoji or non-English character is used.

No. The text stays in your browser and is not saved or sent to us.

Ads or titles not getting clicks?

Send us the account or the page. We look at what is written, what people search for and what is shown, before there is any quote.

No pitch deck, no obligation. Bring your URL and we will look at it together.
