Questions
Divide the price by 1 plus the rate. At 18%, divide by 1.18. A price of ₹1,180 with GST included is ₹1,000 before GST, with ₹180 of tax.
Multiply the price by the rate and add the result. At 18%, ₹1,000 plus ₹180 is ₹1,180.
CGST and SGST apply when you sell to a buyer in the same state as your place of supply, and each is half the tax. IGST applies when the buyer is in another state, and it is the whole tax.
The rate for your product's HSN code. Rates are set by the GST Council and change, so check the current notification or ask your accountant. The rate chips here are shortcuts, not advice.
Yes. Give each line its own rate, quantity and discount. Shipping can carry its own rate, and you can choose whether tax is rounded on each line or once on the invoice.
Each price is rounded to the paisa, and the tax is worked out as the difference between them. That way the base and the tax always add to the total, and an odd paisa in the CGST and SGST split goes to SGST.
